Changes in behavior

Power PDF natively supports 64-bit architecture, including ARM-based Windows 11 operating systems. In the Connector SDK, x86 (32-bit) support is no longer available; connectors require a 64-bit design and compatible hardware architecture.

Several accessibility features are enhanced or changed, including:

• Re-tag PDF document when adding page numbers: When adding page numbers, Power PDF automatically re-tags the document to maintain accessibility.

• Tag tables spanning across pages: When tagging tables, Power PDF recognizes tables that span across pages and tags them as a single table.

• Automatically re-tag documents prior to a read-aloud: Power PDF automatically re-tags a document prior to a read-aloud request. Feature enhancements improve the ability to correctly recognize separate paragraphs without reading each line as a separate paragraph.

• Single click to expand all tag elements: When working in the tag panel, Power PDF can expand all elements with a single click.

Additional usability features have been modified or enhanced, including:

• SharePoint Connector enhancement: The SharePoint connector is enhanced to improve the user experience, as well as the method by which sites are retrieved for users.
• Restore Last View Settings: This UI element has been relocated. The "Restore last view settings when reopening documents" setting is moved from "General > Miscellaneous" to "General > Startup > Default Application View," where it shares similar settings that impact the same area of the application. This setting can also override the settings under "Default Application View" and as such, a more intuitive grouping is established so you can make a single selection.
• Edit Text to Remember Last Used Color, Font, and Size: The Edit Text feature remembers the last used color, font, and size so you do not need to re-set them each time.
• Watched Folder enabled for all supported Power PDF file types: The Watched Folder feature supports input and output of all supported file types in Power PDF.

The following features are deprecated or removed from Power PDF:

• Legacy iManage Connectors

  Legacy iManage Connectors for the iManage DeskSite and FileSite products are deprecated. iManage has ended support for the DeskSite and FileSite products, and Power PDF no longer receives support from iManage on those products. However, Power PDF continues to support the latest generation of iManage products.

• WordPerfect file format (WPD)

  Users are no longer able to save or convert to the WordPerfect (WPD) file format.
