Integration into DMS
Power PDF Advanced, along with its PDF creation and conversion components, is integrated into three Document Management Systems:
- Microsoft SharePoint
- eDOCS
- iManage WorkSite
In Worldox, Documentum and DocuShare you cannot open source files directly from your Document Management System. You have to get the source files from the DMS into your file system, to create PDF or convert PDF or XPS files to an editable format.
For more information, see DMS overview.
Integration into Microsoft SharePoint
The precise control text and their locations may vary, because the administrator defines them. Broadly, it is possible to send PDF and XPS files from SharePoint to Power PDF or Convert Assistant. You can also call Create Assistant from SharePoint to create and upload a new PDF.
For more information, see Specify a SharePoint site name.
Integration into iManage Work
Use the Kofax PDF toolbar that is available within the iManage client application when you enable the PDF Add-on. See About the iManage Add-on toolbar for details.
Special features in iManage WorkSite
Register WorkSite Servers: More than one WorkSite server can be used within a network. Use this command to register the servers you want to use.
Use Document Profile: From version 8, DeskSite has two different user interfaces for opening and saving files. Select the Use Document Profile check box to specify the user interface of a version earlier than 8. If this setting is not selected, the latest user interface is used.
Integration with the iManage 10 web interface through the Power PDF add-on
Integration between Power PDF and the iManage 10 server requires the installation and setup of the Power PDF add-on for iManage 10 on the iManage server. Refer to the Network Installation Guide for details.
After the Add-on is installed, iManage users can use Power PDF commands from the iManage web interface:
-
Open with Convert Assistant: Works with PDF and XPS files only. See Convert PDF and XPS files from Document Management Systems for details.
-
Create PDF: Works with XPS, Office, and image files. See Create a PDF using the iManage web interface for details.
The above commands are available on the context menu under FileSite, in the Folder Pane of Outlook. This requires iManage FileSite and Microsoft Outlook installed on the computer, and the iManage integration enabled in Power PDF.
Integration into eDOCS
Use the related context menu commands from the Windows Explorer DM Extension client application. The context menu offers various commands depending on the type of the selected files. See the list of the supported file types in the PDF Create Assistant topic.
