Features and enhancements
-
Printix Go Brother supports authentication and print release for Brother printers and MFPs that are compatible with the Brother Solutions Interface (BSI).
-
Generic OpenID Connect (OIDC) Identity Provider support. Can be used with, for example, Ping.
-
Going forward, the Printix Client (Windows and Mac), Printix Redirector, and Printix Configurator are available only as 64-bit. Computers running 32-bit versions do not update to newer versions and remain on their currently installed version. For a list of supported Windows and macOS systems, see the Printix Technical Specifications.
-
The Windows components of Printix Client, Printix Redirector, and Printix Configurator require Microsoft .NET Desktop Runtime 6 to be installed on the computer. To learn more about the installation of .NET Desktop Runtime 6, see the knowledge base article about Printix Client for Windows and Microsoft .NET 6 requirement.
-
Sign in with Microsoft: After signing in with Microsoft through the Pick a Printix Home page, the user is added to only the Printix Home that the user selected. With earlier updates, users were added to all Printix Homes.
-
Must be global administrator to connect other Printix Homes is a new setting that global administrators can select for Microsoft Entra ID. If not selected, any user in the global administrator's Microsoft Entra ID (who is not a global administrator) has the possibility to start a Printix trial (create a new Printix Home) and enable Microsoft Entra authentication for that Printix Home. As a consequence, all users will be presented with the Pick a Printix Home page featuring the Printix Home you created, and any additional Printix Homes your Microsoft Entra ID users have created.
If this setting is selected, only Microsoft Entra ID global administrators can enable Microsoft Entra authentication.
-
Expanded Offline Detection supplemented with Offline Enforcement. Regardless of the status of the Printix Cloud, our Cloud Services team can force the Printix Client into offline mode for tenants listed in CloudPrintOnlineOverride.yaml on Printix Amazon S3 storage in the cloud.
-
Improved SNMP configuration management: The management of SNMP configurations is made easier with searching and sorting. The assigned networks are easier to look through. The SNMP configurations are listed on multiple pages to reduce load time. You can navigate between pages with left and right arrows. Multiple SNMP configurations can be selected and deleted at the same time. For details, see "SNMP" in the Printix Administrator Help.
-
Before discovering printers on the Sites page, you can select Add SNMP configuration in case a new SNMP configuration is required to match the SNMP configuration of the printers to be discovered.
-
Capture workflows for Microsoft OneDrive: We support the use of User Principal Names (UPN) that are different from the user's email address. Microsoft Entra Groups must be enabled.
-
Printix Go Capture functionality can now be used with computers when there is no DNS server to resolve the computer's fully qualified domain name. On the Computer properties page, you can select Use computer's static IP address for SSL certificate.
-
Printix Go Lexmark supports more printer models: CX963, CX962, CX961, CS963, CX833, XC9655, XC9645, XC9635, and XC8355.
-
Printix Cloud Print API is enhanced to also return the location, model, and vendor of printers.
-
The Power BI report (PBIT) file must be downloaded from the Software page in Printix Administrator. For customization purposes, you can download PowerBITemplateCustomizationPack.zip. It contains PowerPoint design templates and icons.
-
The Printer properties page has a Debug printer function. For example, it can be used to display the card number of cards used at the printer. Special characters in card numbers are encoded with base 64.
