The Batching dialog in the Scan job description

To display this dialog, click Batching in the Scan job description.

If a batch definition is selected in the job description, this dialog displays the settings specified in the batch definition. The only setting you can change here is Auto increment batch no. Change other settings in the Batch definition dialog.

If form definitions or a set definition is selected in the job description rather than a batch definition, you can create scan-only batches by specifying the settings in this dialog.

Settings:

Batch size

The number of identified forms or (if you are processing sets) the number of identified sets to be in the batch. Do not include appendices in the batch size. Zero (0) or blank means batching is not used.

This sets the value of the #BatchSize batch variable. (See examples of #BatchSize.)

Batch prefix

Up to 12 characters to help identify the batch, or leave blank.

This sets the value of the #BatchPrefix batch variable.

This is required if you run more than one Scan module, because there is a risk that the same batch number, time, and date could occur twice. Often, Batch prefix is used to hold the initials of the Scan operator.

Batch no.

The batch number of the first batch. If Batch no. is blank or 0, the first batch number is 0. If Auto increment batch no. is selected (see below), Batch no. = the last batch number from the previous Scan session (if any) + 1.

This sets the value of the #BatchNo batch variable.

Batch report layout file

The batch report layout file name, if any.

If no batch report layout file name appears and you are using the batching function, this means that FORMS’ standard batch report layout is being used.

Print batch report

Prints a batch report after each batch is scanned.

Auto increment batch no.

Select this to number batches in sequence starting with the value in Batch no. (More info.)
