Ehcharset.ini

Ehcharset.ini contains character sets and other settings for interpretation of different languages. The file is located in FORMS' root directory.

The settings in this file are described below.

Note that for FORMS to be able to interpret a character that appears on a form, the character must be in the character set being used.

The [General] section specifies all the languages (character sets) that FORMS can interpret.

Following [General] is a section for each interpretable character set. Each section contains the following settings:

AlphaUpper=

The uppercase letters FORMS interprets

AlphaLower=

The lowercase letters FORMS interprets

Other=

The characters looked for when Special characters is selected in the Field dialog.

Numeric=

The numbers FORMS interprets.

CodePage=

Specifies which Microsoft Windows code page is used. Additional information.

In most cases, FORMS uses the character set listed for DefaultCharSet= in Ehglobal.ini.

If individual types of forms are filled out in a different language or in another country where the handwriting is different, you can override the default setting on the form definition level. Do this in the Form definition settings dialog (except for in the case of Greek).
