Layout

The Layout group box in the Fast verify dialog applies to all other items selected in that dialog. Use it to specify how many rows and columns of fields you want FORMS to display at a time during fast verification.

If you are fast-verifying unknown characters, note that the more columns you specify in the Layout group box, the fewer characters are strung together, since FORMS adjusts the display according to your choices.

When you work with multiple lines and columns, you can return to the previous field but not to a previous page.

Continuous operation

When large quantities of forms are processed, it is not uncommon to use two or three different Verify job descriptions on the same forms, with different operators running different job descriptions. (Caution!)

When this is the case, Continuous operation is for verifying anything but unknown characters continuously in fast verify mode. That is, selecting Continuous operation excludes non-fast-verified types of errors from the Verify job, and a separate Verify job is necessary to process those.

Continuous operation is a useful selection, for example, in a supplementary job description run by a fast typist for verifying certain critical fields or for quickly removing interpretation errors before other types of errors are processed in a main job description.

Buffering must be used in combination with Continuous operation, unless the form definitions have very many fields. Enter entire field can speed up the process.

Another suitable Verify job option to use with Continuous operation would be Retype entire form if.

Continuous operation is particularly appropriate in combination with the various Retype and Confirm field properties.
