Equitrac Requirements

This section describes minimum requirements for Equitrac components. Specific requirements depend on the operating system, expected production volume, and other applications in the environment. All servers are 64-bit unless otherwise stated.

Core Accounting Server (CAS)

Component Requirements
Operating system - Server
  • Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016 and 2019
  • SharePoint Server 2010, 2013 and 2016
  • RightFax Server 9.4 and higher
Operating system - Database
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2012 and 2012 Express
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2014 and 2014 Express
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2016 and 2016 Express
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2017 and 2017 Express
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and 2019 Express
  • Oracle® 11g R2, 12c
    Support for Oracle will be removed in the next ControlSuite release and will not be supported for future upgrades. Existing Oracle databases can be upgraded for ControlSuite 1.2 through a backdoor, but it is not supported for new installations. Kofax recommends switching to Microsoft SQL Server.

  • Windows Server 2012 R2, 2016 and 2019 Hyper-V cluster

  • 1 CPU x 2 GHz or greater

  • 2 GB of RAM or greater
Disk space
  • 2.2 GB or greater (SQL Server 2012 or higher)

CAS cannot be installed on the same cluster node with DCE.

Document Routing Engine (DRE) - Print Server

Operating system - with Rules and Routing or Secure Document Release

  • SUSE Linux SLES 11 SP3 for Novell OES 2015
  • SUSE Linux SLES 11 SP4 for Novell OES 2015 SP1
  • Red Hat Enterprise 7.0 and 7.2
    Support for Linux operating systems will be removed in the next ControlSuite release and will not be supported for future upgrades. Support for existing setups can be enabled through a backdoor for ControlSuite 1.2, but it is not supported for new installations.

Device Control Engine (DCE) in High Availability Setup

  • 2 GB or greater (distributed database on DCE node)

  • .NET Framework 4.6.1
DCE cannot be installed on the same cluster node with CAS. Requires Print Job Management (PJM).

Scan Processing Engine (SPE)
