Installing and configuring the Server Monitor

Find a computer with the Java runtime environment installed. If you can’t find one, install the environment yourself. Get the Server Monitor distribution files. You’ll find them on your FraudOne distribution CD or on the FraudOne demo CD. Copy the files to a directory on your computer (see Installing the Server Monitor).

This computer must be configured using the FraudOne SetupCfg.cmd at least as a client system; if you need help with this process, it is described in the FraudOne Administrator's Guide.

You need to ensure that the SrvMon.properties file element in the configuration database matches the Server Manager configuration. This element is stored under the Instance Type "ServerMonitor" and the Instance Name is usually "Monitor", but this can be changed using the "-monitorname" command line parameter when the Server Monitor is started.

Check the settings:

Setting Default Corresponding setting in manager configuration Description
CmdPort 2004 MonRequestPort UDP port for commands
LogPort 2005 MonLogPort TCP port for log information
