KCM Instance installation
This section describes individual installation of the KCM instance to a single server. This may either be the same server that the Contract Manager resides on, or a separate server. The KCM instance will be added to any existing ones on that server, if any.
KCM instance handles the document processing for a particular partner and customer (tenant).
You can use a command-line tool AddInstance.exe tool to do either of the following:
- Create a new KCM installation that only consists of a KCM instance.
- Add a KCM instance to an existing KCM installation.
The new KCM instance can be installed on the same server with the Contract Manager, or on the remote server.
AddInstance.exe doesn't install the KCM instance in a running state. You can find the instructions on running this component in the Starting KCM Instance section of this guide.
Additional requirements
This section lists the prerequisites and preparatory steps you have to take before you run AddInstance.exe.
The <deploy root> folder where you are going to install the software, must consist of ASCII characters.
Before you start, make sure that your environment satisfies the general KCM installation requirements.
- The account used to run AddInstance.exe must be included in the local Administrators group on the target server.
- Multiple KCM instances cannot use the same database for KCM Repository, so make sure you have the databases prepared for all KCM instances you plan to deploy. For additional information refer to the KCM Repository database section of this guide.
