Folder tab

Use this tab to specify new or existing folders for storing documents in the CMIS-compliant repository.

All information related to your CMIS-compliant repository is refreshed in export setup when you log in to the export connector. This information includes the available document classes, document properties, folder classes, folder properties, and existing folders. If document or folder properties are changed in CMIS while export setup is open, you must log out of the export connector and log in again to see the most current properties.

Name
Enter a name for your export connector. This name is used to refer to the export connector in your Kofax application. This field is not required, but it may help to track export connectors if you are using the Kofax Capture Multiple Export feature. The maximum length is 32 characters.

Folder hierarchy

Specify a folder hierarchy for exporting and storing documents. The hierarchy defines the storage path for documents exported to a CMIS-compliant repository.

If user-defined folders are added, the export connector searches for user-defined folders based on the Folder Type, and creates them if necessary, starting at the first folder shown in the hierarchy.

Add button

Click to create a user-defined folder as a subfolder of the last node in the folder hierarchy.

User-defined folders are used to specify new folders to be created or searched for in the CMIS-compliant repository at export time, based on the Folder Type property. Name is a required property that is always listed as the first property on the list of CMIS Properties. You can specify a new name by linking Kofax Values to the Folder Name property.

Note Although some repositories may not list the Name property as required, it must have a value; otherwise, the the export process will fail.

Delete button

Click to delete the selected user-defined folder and any nested folders and their associated linked properties. Deletion is useful if you change your mind about the user-defined folders added during setup and want to remove them.

Note that only user-defined folders can be deleted.

Folder Type

Use this table to establish links between CMIS properties for user-defined folders and Kofax Values. When exporting to user-defined folders, the export connector searches the object store for the folder based on the specified location:

  • If the folder is found, this folder is used for export. The existing properties of the found folder do not change, even if Kofax Values are linked to the properties for the folder.

  • If the folder is not found, a new folder is created in CMIS using the values specified during export setup.

To link values, select the Kofax Values field associated with a CMIS folder property. A context menu button appears. Click the button to display options for linking Kofax Values to the selected folder property.

Search

Use the Search column to specify which properties to use to search for pre-existing folders to be updated in CMIS Server.

If no check box is selected, a new folder is always created. In this case, the new document properties are set with the value from the settings.

If one folder is found by a search property and all other folder properties (not including the search field) are empty, the properties of the folder are updated with the value from this settings. Otherwise, if any of its properties is not empty, the folder properties stay the same.

If more than one folder is found, the first folder is updated and a message is logged.

CMIS Properties

This list contains folder properties defined in CMIS for the selected folder class. All properties are defined for the selected folder class as listed, with these exceptions: CMIS system-generated properties, system-owned properties, and hidden properties.

Note the following:

  • Required folder properties are shown with an asterisk in front of their names (for example, *Folder Name). You must provide a Kofax Value for all required folder properties.

  • Folder Name is always the first property in the list. This is a required property used to specify a name for your user-defined folder at export time.

Note The data types of the linked Kofax Values must be compatible with CMIS data types.
Kofax Mappings

You can link CMIS properties to Kofax field values such as Index fields, Batch fields, and Kofax Values.
