Import and export a capture solution

You can import a capture solution into another system to allow sharing the solution with other users or moving it between systems and also export your solution.

Import

To import a capture solution:

  1. Navigate to the Solutions list page.
  2. Click .
  3. Browse the zip file you want to import.

    The system checks if it is a valid capture solution package. If the zip file is valid, the solution is imported with all the associated items in the package and is listed in the capture solutions list page. You can edit or delete a solution after importing.

    Note

    • If the zip is not a valid capture solution an error displays.

    • If a capture solution with the same name or ID already exists with a higher version, you cannot import it.

    • If a capture solution with the same name already exists but with a different ID, then you cannot import as the solution name must be unique.

    • You cannot import a solution from Kofax TotalAgility designer. You can import the capture zip files only through the Quick Capture designer.

Export

To export a capture solution:

  1. Navigate to the list page of capture solutions.
  2. On the context menu of the capture solution, click Export.
    Note The export option is only available for solutions that have a major version.

    A prompt appears to confirm the export.

  3. Click Yes to export a copy of the latest published version of your capture solution.

    A message appears to download the zip file.

  4. Download the ZIP file.

    A package containing all the associated items and details of the capture solution is exported.
