Translations Window
Use this window to configure the translation for the selected object using the following options:
- Default
-
Displays the translation for the selected object in the default language. You can change it by typing your customized translation into the text field.
The following columns are available for the additional project languages:
- Language
-
Displays the languages available for localization. The languages can be added, changed, and specified only with the help of the Localization tab in the Project Settings.
- ID
-
Displays the language identifier. A language can be defined by the primary language, such as "fr" for French, or by its sub-language, such as the regional dialect "fr-CA" for French used in Canada.
- Translation
-
Displays the initial entry given in the default language, and is highlighted in grey. You can type in the translation for the selected language; the color then changes to black. When you have defined a primary language, the applied localization is displayed for any sub-language. The entry for a secondary language is then highlighted in blue. This ensures that you are able to see whether an entry is translated or not. After another translation step for the secondary language, the color then changes to black. The localization Fall Back mechanism explains the relationships between the default language, primary and secondary languages.
You can use F2 as a shortcut key to navigate to the Translation column.
Definitions for the buttons at the bottom of this window can be found in Common Transformation Designer Buttons.
