Enable classification online learning

If you want to improve your classification results, use classification online learning. This type of online learning must have the Knowledge Base Learning Server included in the Kofax Capture queue. Documents are collected during production whenever a user reclassifies a document.

If you are using scripting, documents are collected when they meet whatever criteria you specify in your script.

Since the documents are collected during production, a large number of accumulated documents can adversely affect project performance. For the best results, ensure that you follow the project life cycle recommendations to store your training documents in the most efficient manner.

You can enable classification online learning by following these steps:

  1. Enable online learning.
  2. On the Project tab, in the Configuration group, select Project Settings Project Settings icon.
  3. On the General tab, in the Online Learning, click Advanced.

    The Advanced Online Learning Options window is displayed.

  4. In the General Settings group, select Use Classification Online Learning.

    The Classification Online Learning Settings group is enabled.

  5. Optionally, adjust the Maximum documents stored for import value to restrict the number of training documents collected.

    Enter a value between 100 and 20,000 documents.

  6. If you want to use dynamic classification, select Use dynamic classifiers during classification.
  7. Specify a value for the Number of documents required to repeat the training of the content classifiers.

    This value tells the project how often to update and train the dynamic classifiers with the collecting training documents.

  8. When finished, click OK.

    The Advanced Online Learning Options window is closed and your changes are saved.

  9. Optionally, click OK to close the Project Settings window.
  10. Save the changes to your project.
