Validate tables

There are two different ways to manually index tables.

  • Typing. If a table was not extracted completely, you can add missing content during validation by clicking the cell in the table and typing the text.

If you use this method, no geometrical information about the table can be gathered, only the values are available, if you mark this document for Extraction Online Learning.

  • Using the mouse. If a table was not found during extraction and no row was extracted, you can create a table definition with its geometrical information and index the table during Validation.

  1. Click Add Row from the table toolbar.

An empty row is inserted into the table.

  2. Click in or tab to the table cell by pressing Tab.
  3. Select the content from the viewer by either clicking the recognition result or drawing a zone around the content using the mouse.
  4. Repeat steps 1 through 3 for the remaining cells in the first row.
  5. Select the already defined row and from the table toolbar click Interpolate rows.

The command tries to find missing rows in the document automatically.

  6. If necessary, edit the located cells, add or insert missing rows, or delete additional rows.

The geometrical information gathered by manually indexing the table is saved and can be reused for Extraction Online Learning.
