Sometimes Scan cannot identify a form. Normally you must choose from actions that involve discarding or rescanning the unidentified form. More info.
However, you can save forms that cannot be identified by Scan and manually identify them as one of the form definitions included in the job description. To do this, select Accept unidentified forms in the dialog.
Accept unidentified forms cannot be used for form definitions with appendices.
You cannot export field images from Unidentified forms. (Form images can be exported as usual.)
When you select Accept unidentified forms, at some point you must manually identify such forms (that is, specify which form definition they belong to). You can do that:
During the scanning process—select Identify manually in Scan. Forms that the program cannot identify during scanning are displayed so that you can specify a form definition for them.
During the verification process—select Identify manually in Verify. (Limitations apply if the job description includes sets.)
In either case, you must type the data manually during verification.
Recommended: If you select Identify manually in Verify, specify the maximum number of unidentified forms in a row to accept before a message is displayed and you are given the opportunity to rescan.
Zero (0) means that an unlimited number of unidentified forms is accepted, and no message is displayed.
