Verifying unidentified forms

Under certain conditions, Verify can receive forms that are not yet identified or interpreted. These must be verified separately. Use this procedure:

  1. Select Unidentified as the only form status in the Verify job description. (Do this even if Identify manually in Scan was selected in the Identification dialog in the Scan job.)

  2. Start the job by selecting Job ð Start.

  3. Verify displays:

(Show me what it looks like.)

  4. If the job description consists of only one form definition, or if you have already identified the form in Scan, the correct form definition is automatically used as the template. You may skip the rest of this step.

If the job description contains several form definitions and you did not identify the form in Scan, the first form definition in the job description is used as the template; to select a different one, press F12 or select Form ð Select form def.

(Which form definitions are included in the list?)

If you are working with sets and did not identify the form in Scan, FORMS chooses which form definition to assign to the Unidentified form. You cannot change it. If the actual form is not the same as the form definition FORMS chose for it, delete the set (by selecting Set ð Delete) and scan it again.

  5. Type the values you see on the image into the smaller dialog. Click OK after typing each value or if the field is blank.

All of the checks and controls associated with the form definition (external field validations, form validations, etc.) are applied to that form when you fill in the data.

After you type the value of the last field and click OK, Verify continues with the next unidentified form in the same way.

  6. When the unidentified forms have been processed, you can choose between creating a new blank form for manual keying and ending the job.
