Agent for Notification

Note: Do not confuse this agent with the Agent for SLA Notification.

This system agent checks whether Closedunconfirmed log messages exist, and it sends them to the specified email recipients.

You can "confirm" individual log messages (or mark them as "read" or "dealt with" or "ignore"), and hide them. (This is described in Filtering, sorting, grouping, and hiding log messages.) "Unconfirmed log messages" are those that have not been "confirmed" in that way.

These settings are available when you configure this agent:

Settingstab

Log level

  • Debug – Detailed information about the status of a task or a module, information about the performance of RCF business rules, if used; information about the performance of RCC Classification and Interpretation, if used. Debug information is used primarily for troubleshooting.

  • Information – Messages that contain important information about the status of a task or a module.

  • Warnings – Messages about things that do not prevent the execution of tasks.

  • Errors – Messages about events that cause significant tasks to fail.

Grouping

Select whether messages are to be grouped, and if so, whether they are grouped by text or by ID.

Message IDs

When you retrieve messages in Log Explorer, you can see in the Message no. column that each type of message has an message number (ID). By specifying those IDs, you can select which types of messages to send by email, or which to exclude.

ClosedIf the Message no. column is not displayed:

  1. In the Log Explorer, select Settings > Column Options.

  2. In the Column Options dialog, select Message no..

  3. Click OK.
