Black and White |
Sets output color to black and white. The file size for a black and white image is considerably smaller than it is for grayscale or color images. |
![]() |
Grayscale |
Sets output color to grayscale. Compared to black and white, grayscale images usually result in slightly better quality at the cost of increased file sizes. |
![]() |
Color |
Sets output to color. When you scan in color, the file size usually increases (but compared to grayscale, only slightly). |
Detail group |
||
Resolution |
Applies a dpi (dots per inch) setting to produce satisfactory image quality. Resolution is a measure of the image detail that the scanner can translate. The higher resolution settings support greater amounts of detail. Images scanned at high resolutions require more storage space than other images. |

Unattended Mode |
Enables unattended mode for batch separation. Unattended mode is the ability to scan several batches in succession without intervention from the Scan station operator. |
|
Duplex on Simplex Scanner |
Enables duplex scanning on a simplex scanner. |
|
Display Blank Pages |
Displays blank pages instead of automatically deleting them. Available only if the Front Delete Blank Page Threshold or Back Delete Blank Page Threshold setting is selected on the Source Properties window. Blank pages appear in the Batch Contents tree view, and they are identified by a rectangle that overlaps the thumbnail image. If a page appears in the Batch Contents tree view as blank, you can right-click and select Mark As Non-blank. As a result, the overlapped rectangle is removed from the thumbnail image. This setting is saved with the scan profile. If the scan profile is shared, the Display Blank Pages setting is also shared. When a page is detected as blank, it does not affect the volume license counter unless you mark it as non-blank. |
