General Settings Tab
Use this tab to specify various general settings, such as export working folder to temporarily store exported images, skip the first page of each document, and more.
- Export Working Folder
-
Specify an export working folder to be used to temporarily store exported images. Click Browse to select an existing folder or create a new one in the Browse for Folder window.
You should specify an export working folder that is writable by all users.
Specify an existing folder or create a new one. To begin specifying a folder, click the Browse button to open the Browse for Folder window.
-
To specify an existing folder, navigate to a folder location and select it.
-
To create a new folder, click Create New Folder and enter a name.
If the export working folder has been deleted and you load the export connector, a message displays, requesting that you specify a location.
At export, if you specified an export working folder other than the default, documents are exported here:
<specified export working folder>\<GUID type>
If the export working folder has been deleted and you run the export connector, it is automatically created.
After the file transfer is complete, all temporary files and folders are automatically deleted from the export folder.
-
- Skip first page of each document
-
If you are using standalone document separator sheets, you may want to discard the first page of each document. To do so, select this setting. For more information, see Skip first page behavior.
With Kofax Capture, if you export only one image in a document and you select the "Skip first page of each document" setting, export fails and the document is routed to the Quality Control module.
- Use alternate credentials during Export
-
Select this option if you want this export connector to access Microsoft SharePoint using credentials other than those of the current user. Typically, these alternate credentials are used to provide a reduced degree of access to Microsoft SharePoint.
A minimum access right of "Contribute" is required for the runtime user.
- Select Runtime User button
-
Click this button to open the Microsoft SharePoint Login Information window to specify alternate credentials.
- Use WebDAV (recommended for large files)
-
If you expect to export files that are 20 MB or more, select this check box to ensure that files are transferred successfully.
- Use chunk upload (recommended for large files)
-
If you expect to export files that are 200 MB or more to Office 365, select this check box to ensure that files are transferred successfully.
- Locale ID for Managed Metadata lookup
-
Specify the Locale ID for the language to be displayed for the Managed Metadata lookup results. This is entered as a decimal number; for example, the Locale ID for United States English is 1033. A list of Locale ID codes is available on the Microsoft Web site.
This is useful in a multi-language environment, for example, to dynamically determine the language of a value based on document attributes. In this example, a custom script could find a language code on a document and convert it to the corresponding code page value.
- Request timeout
-
Set the number of seconds (0 to 99999999) to elapse before a timeout is reported to the Microsoft SharePoint server if a network connection is lost. Default value is 60 seconds.
- Max Retries
-
Lists the maximum number of times (0 to 100) that a connection should be retried after a timeout occurs. Default value is 3 times.
- Repository Document ID
-
Set your preference for the repository document ID:
-
Don't write repository ID: Default setting. When selected, a repository document ID is not used.
-
Use SharePoint Document ID: When selected, the Microsoft SharePoint document ID is used as the repository document ID. Supported for use with Microsoft SharePoint 2010 or later.
-
Use CMIS Object ID: When selected, the CMIS Object ID is used as the repository document ID. To use this option, CMIS Composer must be installed and activated on the Microsoft SharePoint server.
If you plan to export documents to multiple export connectors, you can set up a reference that makes the repository document ID value assigned by SharePoint available to the other connectors. To do so, use CMIS Composer within SharePoint to specify the repository document ID.
If a configuration file from a previous version of the export connector still exists on your workstation, the Request timeout, Max Retries, and Repository Document ID settings are applied as default values on the General tab.
-
- Invalid name characters
-
Use this feature to specify invalid characters that are required to validate the document, folder, and document set names during the export. The following options are available on the list:
-
For Microsoft SharePoint Server 2013: ~ " # % & * : < > ? / \ { | }.
-
For Microsoft SharePoint Online: " * : < > ? / \ |
After selection, the values are available for editing. Maximum number of characters is 50.
If this option is not applied, the characters listed above are removed from the name during export, which might cause errors with some versions of Microsoft SharePoint server. The default minimum is ~ " # % & * : < > ? / \ { | }.
-
- Remove invalid name characters
-
Select this option to automatically remove any invalid characters from the name of the document, folder, or document set.
- Skip updating blank fields when error occurs
-
For Kofax Capture, Kofax TotalAgility, and Kofax Express, the blank fields update during the export may cause errors. If this check box is selected, the errors related to updating blank fields for a folder and document set are ignored.
