Tour of the Administration Console Tabs

The following table lists all of the Administration Console tabs. Select a link in the Tab Name column to view the Help for that tab. As another option, select one of the links below to go directly to the applicable location in the table:

Tabs can be opened by selecting an item in the Navigation panel or by clicking links on other tabs. For example, selecting Devices and then selecting to “Edit a device” opens the General tab. The How to Open column in the table gives you navigation instructions.

Devices:

Devices

View, edit, and remove devices you have defined.

On the Navigation panel, select Devices.

Discovered Devices

View devices that are discovered on the network. Select devices from the list to add to the server.

On the Navigation panel, select Devices, and then select the Discovered Devices tab.

General

View or edit information about a device, and add a new device manually.

On the Navigation panel, select Devices, and then select a device or click Create to add a device.

Device VRS Settings Mapping

Enables .ini files to be used to configure image settings for specific devices.

On the Navigation panel, select Devices, and then select the Device VRS Settings Mapping tab.

Destinations:

Destinations

View, edit, and remove destinations you have defined.

On the Navigation panel, select Destinations.

General

View, edit, or create a new destination.

On the Navigation panel, select Destinations and then select a shortcut or click Create.

Associated Device Profiles

Select the profiles that will use the destination.

On the Navigation panel, select Destinations, select a shortcut, and then select the Associated Device Profiles tab.

Associated Groups

Select groups that can access the destination.

On the Navigation panel, select Destinations, select a shortcut, and then select the Associated Groups tab.

Scan Settings

Select default settings to be used when scanning documents to this destination.

On the Navigation panel, select Destinations, select a shortcut, and then select the Scan Settings tab.

Export Settings

Select settings for images produced for this destination.

On the Navigation panel, select Destinations, select a shortcut, and then select the Export Settings tab.

Destination Icon

Select the icon that appears for this destination in the Thin Client.

On the Navigation panel, select Destinations, select a shortcut, and then select the Destination Icon tab.

Shortcuts:

Shortcuts

General

View, edit, or create a new shortcut.

On the Navigation panel, select Shortcuts and then select a shortcut of click Create.

Associated Device Profiles

Select the profiles that will use the shortcut.

On the Navigation panel, select Shortcuts, select a shortcut, and then select the Associated Device Profiles tab.

Associated Groups

Select groups that can access the shortcut.

On the Navigation panel, select Shortcuts, select a shortcut, and then select the Associated Groups tab.

Scan Settings

Select default settings to be used when scanning documents to this shortcut.

On the Navigation panel, select Shortcuts, select a shortcut, and then select the Scan Settings tab.

Export Settings

Select settings for images produced for this shortcut.

On the Navigation panel, select Shortcuts, select a shortcut, and then select the Export Settings tab.

Shortcut Icon

Select the icon that appears for this shortcut in the Thin Client and MFPs.

On the Navigation panel, select Shortcuts, select a shortcut, and then select the Shortcut Icon tab.

Device Profiles:

View, edit, and remove profiles you have defined.

On the Navigation panel, select Device Profiles.

General

View, edit, or create a new device profile.

On the Navigation panel, select Device Profiles, and select a profile or click Create.

Associated Devices

Select the devices that will use the profile.

On the Navigation panel, select Device Profiles, select a profile, and then select the Associated Devices tab.

Associated Shortcuts

Select the shortcuts that will be included in the profile.

On the Navigation panel, select Device Profiles, select a profile, and then select the Associated Shortcuts tab.

Associated Destinations Select the destinations that will be associated with the profile.

On the Navigation panel, select Device Profiles, select a profile, and then select the Associated Destinations tab.

Thin Client Permissions:

Thin Client Permissions

View, edit, and remove Thin Client permissions. Each permission has a set of activities available to members.

On the Navigation panel, select Thin Client Permissions.

General

Add, view, or edit names assigned to Thin Client permission sets.

On the Navigation panel, select Thin Client Permissions, and select a permission or click Create.

Associated Users

Associate the activities for this permission with individual users.

On the Navigation panel, select Thin Client Permissions, select a permission, and then select the Associated Users tab.

Associated Groups

Associate activities for this permission with groups.

On the Navigation panel, select Thin Client Permissions, select a permission, and then select the Associated Groups tab.

Associated Activities

Select the Thin Client activities to which members have permission.

On the Navigation panel, select Thin Client Permissions, select a permission, and then select the Associated Activities tab.

Notifications:

Configured Notifications

View and remove notifications you have defined. You can also add new notifications from this tab.

On the Navigation panel, select Notifications.

Notification Settings

View and specify settings for the email notifications.

On the Navigation panel, select Notifications, and then select the Notification Settings tab.

General

View and edit a notification or create a new one.

On the Navigation panel, select Notifications, and then select a notification or click Create.

Associated Shortcuts

View shortcuts that are available and associated with the notification.

On the Navigation panel, select Notifications, select a notification, and then select the Associated Shortcuts tab.

Associated Form Types

View form types that are available and associated with the notification.

On the Navigation panel, select Notifications, select a notification, and then select the Associated Form Types tab.

Users:

Users

Lists the users available to Kofax Front Office Server and enables you to change their permissions.

On the Navigation panel, select Users.

General

View the name and description of a user as defined in Kofax Capture.

On the Navigation panel, select Users, and then select a user.

Member Of

View the groups that the user is a member of.

On the Navigation panel, select Users, select a user, and then select the Member Of tab.

Associated Thin Client Permissions

View Thin Client Permissions that are available and associated with the user.

On the Navigation panel, select Users, select a user, and then select the Associated Thin Client Permissions tab.

Groups:

Lists the groups available to Kofax Front Office Server and enables you to change their permissions.

On the Navigation panel, select Groups.

General

View the name and description of a group as it is defined in Kofax Capture.

On the Navigation panel, select Groups, and then select a group.

Members

View the users that are members of the group.

On the Navigation panel, select Groups, select a group, and then select the Members tab.

Associated Thin Client Permissions

View Thin Client Permissions that are available and associated with the group.

On the Navigation panel, select Groups, select a group, and then select the Associated Thin Client Permissions tab.

Associated Destinations

Select the destinations that are associated with the group.

On the Navigation panel, select Groups, select a group, and then select the Associated Destinations tab.

Associated Shortcuts

Select the shortcuts that are associated with the group.

On the Navigation panel, select Groups, select a group, and then select the Associated Shortcuts tab.

Transaction Review:

Transaction Review

View a list of failed document transactions.

On the Navigation panel, select Transaction Review.

Settings:

General

Enable, disable, and configure general settings.

On the Navigation panel, select Settings, and then select General.

RightFax

Configure RightFax integration.

On the navigation panel, select Settings, and then select RightFax.

Customizations

Upload custom destination and shortcut icons.

On the Navigation panel, select Settings, and then select Customizations.

Advanced

Change the property values of various configuration namespaces.

On the Navigation panel, select Settings, and then select Advanced.

Create New Advanced Setting

Use when instructed in an MFP administrator's guide to provide settings that are not included with Kofax Front Office Server, such as image settings for a specific MFP model.

On the Advanced tab, click Create.
