This topic describes changes to the product behavior since the previous release.

KCS Portal

The options to upload an attachment and include a signature are now under the Insert drop-down on the Message screen.

Compatibility between Line Server Model 305 (LS1) firmware and TCOSS releases

The Line Server Model 305 (LS1) firmware from Kofax Communication Server 10.5 is incompatible with TCOSS releases from Kofax Communication Server 10.4 or earlier. However, older versions of Line Server Model 305 are compatible with the TCOSS release from Kofax Communication Server 10.5.

Do the following when updating to Kofax Communication Server 10.5.

  1. Update TCOSS with or without the LS1 firmware update.

    The updated TCOSS version would still work with the old LS1 firmware. However, the tc18.elf file compatible with LS1 after the update is no longer updated by TCOSS.

  2. Verify if LS1 is working.
  3. Update the LS1 firmware to Kofax Communication Server 10.5 after ensuring that Kofax Communication Server does not downgrade to 10.4.

Do the following when downgrading from Kofax Communication Server 10.5 to Kofax Communication Server 10.4 or earlier.

  1. Downgrade the LS1 firmware to Kofax Communication Server 10.4.0.1.
  2. Downgrade TCOSS.

Features removed

The following features have been removed from Kofax Communication Server.

KCS Lync Link application

The KCS Lync Link application and its related document (KCS Lync Link Administrator's Guide) are removed from Kofax Communication Server as Microsoft Lync is no longer supported.

Telex integration

Kofax Communication Server no longer supports Telex.
