SQL Server

Select this option to use an SQL Server database. If you are using an SQL Server Enterprise database, it is required that you have a Kofax Front Office Server Enterprise license or a Kofax Capture Evaluation license. An SQL Server Standard or Express database does not require a Kofax Front Office Server Enterprise license.

Database authentication

You can authenticate with the databases for performing the move using either Windows or SQL Server authentication. If you select Windows authentication, the credentials you used to log onto the computer where you are running the Kofax Front Office ServerUtilities are used. You need rights for reading and creating tables on both the source and destination databases in order to perform the move. The user account used to run the Kofax Front Office Server service must also have rights to the new database.

If you are using SQL Server authentication, use the fields to enter the credentials for a SQL Server user account that has rights for reading and creating tables on the destination database.

The LocalSystem user account cannot be used with Windows authentication. If you need to change the user account used by the Kofax Front Office Server service, see the Kofax Front Office ServerAdministrator's Guide for instructions.

SQL Server configuration

The SQL Server Configuration section has the following fields.

Server Name

This field is populated with the database Instance name, which is the name of the server where Microsoft SQL Server is installed, followed by the instance name (for example, mydbserver01\MSSQLSERVER).

Database Name

Enter the name of the database that was created to use for Kofax Front Office Server. Note that the database must already exist as the utility will not create it.

Authentication

The Authentication section has the following fields

Windows authentication using the network login ID

Select this option to use Windows authentication to log on to the database. The user account that is logged on to the computer running the Kofax Front Office Server Utilities is used to perform the move. The Login and Password fields are not used.

Select this option to specify the SQL Server user name and password to log on to the database. The Login and Password fields are enabled for you to enter the credentials.
