Setting up the database during installation

The Database Utility appears after Kofax Front Office Server installation so that you can set up a database. If you are using a Standard database, the Database Utility installs Microsoft SQL Server Express and creates the database. For other database types, you must create the database using the database server utility and provide connection and authentication information for it.

If you are using command-line parameters or an .ini file as part of an installation, some of these values may already be filled in. See the Kofax Front Office Server Installation Guide for more information.

When the Database Utility appears after the installation has finished, do the following:

  1. The database you select in the installation program should already be selected under Database Type. If the selection is not correct, select the correct database type.

The fields in the window show the connection and authentication information needed for the type of database.

Note For a Standard database, no fields appear.
  2. If you are using one of the following database types, enter the connection and authentication information:
  3. Click Apply.

The status of the database setup appears. When the process is finished, the Database Utility is closed.
