Rejecting documents and pages
The following sections provide instructions for those situations where you need to reject a document or a page.
How and when to reject documents and pages
Rejecting documents
If you are unable to validate or verify a field, you may be able to override the value so it is valid. However, in some situations, you cannot use override to validate or verify a field. For example, in the following cases, you must reject the document:
-
The image is smudged and illegible.
-
The value on the image is not accepted as a valid value.
You can reject one or multiple documents. To reject multiple documents using the Thumbnail Viewer, first select all the documents you want to reject (using the standard Windows multi-select key combinations click+CTRL or click+SHIFT), then you can either:
-
Right-click on any of the selected documents to display a context-menu and select the reject menu item.
-
If the first selected document has not already been rejected, click the Reject Document toolbar button.
-
If the first selected document has not already been rejected, use the assigned shortcut key. The shortcut may be changed from the default by your administrator.
If your selection contains both rejected and un-reject documents, the following rules apply:
-
You can use the context menu to reject or un-reject all the selected items.
-
You can use the toolbar button or the shortcut keys to set all the selected items to the state of the first item you selected. For example, if you first selected a rejected item, all the items will be un-rejected.
- In the Thumbnail Viewer, select the document or documents to reject (or un-reject).
-
Use one of the options presented above to reject or un-reject the selected documents.
Note The toolbar button and the shortcut work as a toggle, you can use either to un-reject a document that is currently rejected, or vice versa.
-
When prompted, provide a reason for the rejection in the
Rejection Note window. Select either:
-
Predefined—This is a list of predefined rejection reasons as configured by your form designer.
-
Custom—This option enables you to type a specific reason for the rejection. You can also select a predefined reason and augment it by adding additional text.
-

In addition to rejecting entire documents, it is also possible to select and reject one or more pages within a document.
