Initialize the Layout Classifier for Your Project
When you first create a project, the project has no Layout Classifier. This is true even if some classes have layout classification enabled. Layout classification is used for classes with documents that have a consistent layout. Forms and invoices are examples of documents successfully classified using layout classification.

To use layout classification in your project, you can initialize the Layout Classifier by following these steps:
-
On
the
Project tab, in the
Configuration group, select
Project Settings
.
- Click the Classification tab to view the classification settings.
-
In the
Layout Classification group, click the
Properties button for the
Layout Classifier.
The Layout Classifier Properties window is displayed.
- Optionally, configure the layout classification settings.
-
Click
OK to save your changes
and close the
Layout Classifier Properties window.
The window is closed, the Layout Classifier is initialized, and the Reset button is enabled.
- Optionally, click OK to close the Project Settings window.
- Optionally, add training documents to the Classification Set.
-
On the
Process tab on the Ribbon, in the
Train group, click
Separation &
Classification.
The documents in your Classification Set are trained using the newly initialized Layout Classifier.
- Save the changes to your project.
- Optionally, test your classification settings.
