Prioritize work using work allocation rules

A manager or business analyst can use work allocation rules to prioritize work for their resources. Once prioritized, TotalAgility systematically pushes the work to the resource work queue based on the following priorities:

  • None

  • All

  • Activity

  • Activity SLA

  • Individual

  • Job SLA

  • Priority

  • Process

  • State

  • Work Type

  • Work Queue Query

Once you define a work allocation rule, you can assign the rule directly to a resource or a resource group; doing so makes the rule effective for all resources who have the selected resource group as their working group. For example, the day on which a bank releases the quarterly statements, the task of posting bank statements is assigned as a work allocation rule to the Backroom Staff. The system prioritizes the task by putting it at the top of the Backroom Staff work queues when the activity becomes pending.

  1. On the Administration menu, click Work Allocation Rules.

The Work Allocation Rules page appears.

  2. On the Select Category list, select the category for which to view the current rules.
