Accounting

Select Accounting to view the table that lists invoice lines and distributions.

The table is available in read and edit modes. In edit mode, you can add a line by clicking the "Add a line" button. Add a distribution for a line by clicking the Plus button in the Actions column.

When you start entering the text in the table box, if a single value is available, the field is automatically filled in. Use the drop-down list of values if required.

Point to the area next to a column name and click the drop-down arrow to use the following grid options:

  • Sort ascending or descending

  • Click Lock or Unlock to pin a column

  • Point to Columns to hide or show a column

  • Filter by the selected criteria

Also, to change a sort order, you can click the column name. To resize the table column, drag the splitter bar left or right. You can rearrange the order of columns in a table by dragging a column horizontally to the desired position. MarkView Viewer automatically saves all column changes that you make.

If a user makes any document changes outside of the viewer, the Accounting detail section does not refresh the data in real time. Click the round arrow button to refresh the data.

If an invoice row in the Accounting table comprises multiple columns, use a scroll bar to view all the invoice data or click the Additional Details tab. Additional Details show the same information as the Accounting table row (including hidden columns) but in a vertical layout for improved readability.

Table columns

The following table columns are always displayed in the Accounting table.

Column name

Description

Num

Shows the number of invoice lines and invoice distributions, if any.

If an invoice line has distribution lines, the column cell is marked with the arrow element. Click the arrow to collapse or expand distribution lines.

The column is docked in the Accounting table.

Actions

The column options include:

  • Edit: Starts the In-Place Editor tool to edit the line.

  • Copy: Copies the current invoice line or distribution line. When you copy an invoice line, its distributions are not copied.

  • Delete: Deletes the selected row after a user confirms the deletion.

  • Add (for invoice lines only): Adds a new distribution line under an invoice line.

If the table row cannot be modified, the Actions column contains the Magnifier element only. Use Magnifier to activate the Additional Details tab and make the tab visible in the collapsed state.

The column is docked in the Accounting table.

Line Type

Shows the type of an invoice line, such as item, freight, tax, or miscellaneous.

The GL Account column has the drop-down list of values that were previously entered by a user. Click the Ellipsis button to create a GL account by segments in a new dialog box.

The Additional Information column appears in the table only if you have configured Descriptive Flexfields for an invoice in Oracle E-Business Suite and MarkView. Additional Information shows all previously entered data when you start editing the line. Click the Ellipsis button to set values for Additional Information. Also, view Additional Information for the selected line on the Additional Details tab.
