Select Enable workflow auto processing on the local machine to enable workflow processing. With this feature, the user can automatically process workflow steps for checked-in batches in the central Batch Manager.

Two tabs become available after selecting the check box:

• Workflow auto processing options

  First, select a processing mode:

  • Process individual workflow steps: This option searches for shared batches that are ready to perform one of the workflow steps under Workflow steps to process. The search ignores Exceptions Batches, suspended batches, and batches derived from capture profiles with the "Attempt to auto-process the Batch through the workflow" option enabled.

  • Auto process all steps beginning with the next available step: This option searches shared batches derived from capture profiles with the "Attempt to auto-process the Batch through the workflow" option enabled. The search includes Exceptions Batches but ignores suspended batches. Starting with the next workflow step, the processor attempts to restart batch auto processing.

  Next, under Workflow steps to process, select which steps should the batches automate.

  Select the workflow steps you want to process and add (Add >) them to the list of workflow steps to be processed. The order of the selected steps determines precedence.

• Capture profile filtering

  On this tab, you can select to process all document types or specific document types. However, document types cannot be processed if the automated workflow option was not configured in the Workflow Configuration.

  Two filtering options are available:

  • Process all Capture Profiles: Processes all capture profiles on this computer. In this case, the Automation worker (a computer with WAP enabled) processes all capture profiles available in the configuration.

  • Process selected Capture Profiles: Processes only the selected capture profiles on this computer.

    For specific workflow auto processing configurations, you can restrict specific computers to process specific capture profiles for the purposes of fine-tuning the workflow and workload balancing.
