Register Documents activity

This activity is used to add documents and store information about them in the XBOUND database even before they are imported. This procedure is called registering documents, and operators do this interactively in the stand-alone application XBOUND Registration. The way the Register Documents process step is configured controls some of the behavior and functionality of that application.

Headers can be printed; keep these with the scanned papers to help link them with the XBOUND root document.

Tip: Register Documents can be advantageously placed before a Prepare Documents process step.

The following keyboard shortcuts are available when you register documents. You can adjust them as desired.

New document – Specify a keyboard shortcut for creating a new document.
Save document – Specify a keyboard shortcut for saving a document.
Cancel registration – Specify a keyboard shortcut for canceling the registration of a document.
Release document – Specify a keyboard shortcut for releasing a document.
Search and modify document – Specify a keyboard shortcut for searching and modifying a document.

These shortcuts are used only in XBOUND Registration.

This setting is available:

Use release button – Activates the Release button. Only after release can the document be processed further.

Import button	Imports settings from an XML file that was previously created using Export.
Export button	Exports the settings to an XML file. Specify the file name and location. You can then import the XML file to get the same settings. See Exporting and importing process step settings.
Check regular expression link	Opens a test form, where you can (when applicable) check a regular expression.
