Work with Multiple Document Sets
By default, only a single document set can be opened at a time. Selecting a document set while another is already open, collapse the previous document set and opens the newly selected document set. Because it is sometimes desirable to compare document sets, document subsets, or the documents contained within them, it is possible to override this behavior and pin one or more document sets open. This enables you to compare and even move documents between the document sets.
For example, several documents in a document subset within your Extraction Set are very good and representatives for a class in your project. You want to include those documents in a set of golden files to use them to perform benchmarks. Rather than create a new document set, you can copy the documents to an existing document set that already contains other documents for benchmarks.
You can work with more than one document set by following these steps:
- Open the Documents window if it is not already open.
-
Select the first document set you want to work with, and
Pin
it open.
The pin icon changes and first document now stays open, even if another document set is selected.
-
Select the second document set you want to work with.
The first document set remains open and the second document set opens so you can work with both document sets at the same time.
- Optionally, repeat the previous step to open more document sets.
