Create a skin

  1. On the Administration menu, point to Skins and click Manage Skins.

    The Skins page displays a list of available skins including the skins created in TotalAgility.

  2. On the Category list, select the category.

    The system populates the Templates list based on the selected category.

  3. On the Template list, select the template on which to base the skin.
  4. Click Create Creates an item.

    The Skin - Create page appears.

  5. On the Category list, select a category for the new skin.
  6. Enter a Name and Description for the skin.
  7. Using the Active From and Active Until calendars, set the time frame within which the skin will be active.
  8. To specify a skin rule, on the Rules tab:
    1. Select the variable, operator and enter the value for the variable.
      Note To specify multiple values for a variable, enter the values separated by a comma. You can only specify multiple values for the Equals operator.
    2. Click Create.

      This rule is fulfilled if the variable equals to any one of the defined values.

    3. Add other rule variables, if needed.
      Note When there is more than one variable to a rule, the skin is selected only if all the variable values are fulfilled.
  9. Also, if two skins have the same rule, then the skin whose rule is met first at runtime is automatically applied.
  10. Optionally, customize settings for properties that will be unique to the selected skin. For example, specify the time within which the job should be completed.
    1. Click Processes.

      A list of Expected Cost, Expected Duration, SLA Settings, and Process Owner properties defined for the template map appears.

    2. Select the Override check box for a property, specify a new value, and click OK.
      Note To revert to the template map settings, clear the Override check box for the property. All the settings defined for that property are cleared and the template settings are reapplied.
  11. Optionally, customize properties for all skin activities:
    1. Click Activities.

      A list of all the activities available in the map appears.

    2. Expand an activity.

      The activity properties and the values defined in the template appear.

    3. Select the Override check box for a property and specify a value. For example, select the Override check box for Target Due Date, click Browse Browse button, specify the due date for the activity, and click OK.
    4. Specify the target duration, SLA settings, and resources for the skin as needed.
  12. Click the Checklist Variables tab.

    A list of checklist variables defined for the template appears. Add items to the checklist variable for the skin.

  13. Click Save.

Maintain skins

  • Filter the list on the Manage Skins page based on category and template:

    • On the Category list, select a category.

    • On the Template list, select a template.

  • To update a skin, select the skin, make your changes, and click Save.

  • To delete a skin, select the skin, and click Delete Deletes an item.
