Export messages

Use this feature to export the folder view (data) of a message folder, such as Inbox, Outbox, System Folder, FIS Folder, and Message Folder into TSV (Tab Separated Values) format.

For example, in the Inbox message folder, the items appear as follows.

Do the following to export the folder view of a message folder.

  1. From the navigation pane, go to Messages > <Required_Message_Folder>.

    The folder grid with the list of messages is displayed.

  2. Use the checkboxes to select the required items to export. If no selection is made, all the items displayed according to the set filters in the message folder are exported.
  3. Click Export.

    The data is exported and stored in the default download folder set in the browser settings.

    For example, for the Chrome browser, the default location is: 

    c:\user\Downloads

    The exported data is stored in a text file within a ZIP file. The default name format of the ZIP file depends upon the time and date settings set on your computer.

    Example: “KCSExportBackup-DD_MM_YYYY-hh_mm_ss PM”.

    You can also save this file with a different name.

    Open the export.txt file in a spreadsheet viewer like Microsoft Excel to have a tabular (folder) view similar to one displayed in the message folders.
