Create a development environment

You can create multiple development environments for a tenant, which can be used for different purposes, for example, for development or user acceptance testing.

For each tenant, the following two statuses are available:

  • Production Status

  • Development Status

You can manually control access to a tenant by setting the status as inactive before an upgrade, and also select the upgrade result.

  1. On the Tenant Management System page, click Create.

    The Create Tenant page appears.

  2. Click the Development Environments tab.
  3. Select the development environment name from the predefined list. See Manage development environment names.
  4. Enter the Serial Number and the Product Code.
  5. Select whether to create a Separate Database for the tenant:
    • Yes: Creates a separate database thereby providing additional capacity. Stores the tenant data in a separate database from the main database.

    • No: Stores the tenant data in a different schema in the main database.

    Note An email is sent to the tenant with the details of the URL.

  6. Click Create.

    The system sends an email to the tenant's email address with login credentials, and links to TotalAgility and Workspace for development environment.

  7. Click the respective URL to access the TotalAgility and Workspace from the tenant's mail.

Update a development environment

  1. On the Tenant Management System page, click Create. The Create Tenant page appears.
  2. Click the Development Environments tab.
  3. Select the development environment name from the list and update it, as needed.

    Note In the Database Connection group, the development connection appears as read-only. However, you can reuse the connection string value by copying. For example, Use the connection string value to configure Insight Analytics Reporting.

  4. Click Update.
  5. Click Save.

Delete a development environment

  1. On the Tenant Management System page, click Create. The Create Tenant page appears.
  2. Click the Development Environments tab.
  3. Select the development environment from the list and click Delete.

    A warning message appears stating that all tenant data will be removed.

  4. Click Yes to confirm.
