OCR Assisted Indexing

Turn on OCR assisted indexing by selecting the Enable OCR assisted indexing in the Index module check box. When activated, you may select an index field, then use the mouse to hover over the relevant text or numbers highlighted in blue. Left click an index field to populate it with data.

Three tabs are available:

  • Settings

  • Customize: Customize how the tool tip dialog box appears during operation.

    You can select the desired font, font size, font color, and background color.

  • Advanced Options

    • Word order: This option affects the order of how multiple words are compiled into one field.

    • Line tolerance: Set a distance in inches in which you would like the program to consider words to be on the same line. (lower number is less tolerant)

    • Shift key appends data: When enabled, holding down the Shift key while clicking with the left mouse button appends data to the existing data in the field.

    • Enable preparation for OCR assisted indexing during automation: When selected, auto-indexing steps can prepare documents for OAI indexing to achieve faster OCR preparation for profiles with more than one Indexing phases.

After configuring all the desired settings, click the Preview button in the upper right corner to see the likely results.

The preview toolbar has the following icons:

Icon Description
Select Image

Select the preview image through a file folder.

Capture Image

Capture the preview image through a capture device.

Process

Performs OCR on the loaded page.

Zoom In / Out

Zooms in or out on the preview image.
