Batch Import
The following data sources are supported for manually importing into the Capture / Import module. These are in addition to the default sources. For example, setting up a monitored folder (Auto Import) or browsing through the local file browser.
Select a batch import data source:
-
XML Batch Import: Imports batch data from any XML document.
-
Prosar-AIDA Batch Import: Imports batch data from Paradatec Prosar-AIDA.
-
Native Batch Import: Imports batch data from the application's native batch format.
This format does not support the Auto Import feature.
-
FormStorm Batch Import: Imports batch data from FormStorm.
-
DocSTAR Batch Import: Imports batch data from DocSTAR.
-
OPEX Batch Import: Imports batch data from OPEX.
-
PSIcapture Fusion Batch Import: Imports batch data from PSIfusion.
After selecting a batch import data source, the Batch Import Settings dialog box appears with multiple tabs. The following tabs are common across all the data sources available in Batch Import except DocSTAR.
-
General: Select an import location that specifies the directory where the import file is written to when outputting from other systems. We recommend that a different storage location is used for each capture profile.
You can select an import/storage location from the list or create a new one.
Storage locations can also be defined in Configuration: Storage.
-
Field Mapping: For the "Source Field" column, enter the name of the source field that should populate the index field value for this capture profile.
Some data sources have tabs specific to the source. These tabs are the following:
-
Transform (specific to XML Batch Import):
Select Clear or Load to process an XSL transform file. XSL is used to transform XML documents into other formats.
-
FormStorm:
-
FormStorm installation directory: Enter the directory information by clicking the ellipsis (…) button and selecting from the Browse For Folder dialog box.
-
FormStorm server name: Enter the name of the server where FormStorm is located.
-
FormStorm system: Select the system where the files are that are to be imported.
-
Map Fields: Map the fields to the index data fields set up for the current capture profile.
-
-
-
DocSTAR:
-
SQL Server: Select the connection information for the desired SQL server.
-
Authentication: Select the method of authentication:
-
SQL Server Authentication
-
Windows Authentication (Trusted Connection)
-
Active Directory Password Authentication
-
Active Directory Integrated Authentication
Depending on the authentication method selected, enter the login/user name and password, then click Connect.
-
-
DocSTAR template: Select a template from the available options.
-
Import mode: Select an import mode to use for capture.
-
Skip Documents with no files: If no files are available for import, this option lets the user skip over them and continue.
-
-
Fusion:
The import path should typically be noted at the Fusion Completed Storage path, as displayed on the Organization tab in the Administrative module. The import path selected directly affects the size and contents of batches imported into Capture.
If the import path selected is the root of the Fusion Completed storage folder, batches consist of completed documents from any Fusion document type at the time the import is run.
If the import path selected is a Fusion Document Type output folder, batches consist of completed documents from the selected Fusion document type with a new batch created for each user's documents.
If the import path selected is a Fusion user's output folder, batches consist of completed documents from the selected Fusion user with a new batch created for each document the user indexes.
