Create a fuzzy lookup

Use the procedure in this topic to create a fuzzy lookup.

Before you begin

Before you create a fuzzy lookup, you must first configure a fuzzy lookup source.

Procedure
  1. Select the Fields menu.
  2. Select a configurable document type.
  3. Select Configure fuzzy lookups.

    The Fuzzy Lookups window for the selected document type is displayed.

    Any existing fuzzy lookups are listed.

  4. Select Add fuzzy lookup.

    The Add Fuzzy Lookup window is displayed.

  5. In the Add Fuzzy Lookup window, configure the following settings.

    Description

    Name

    The name of the fuzzy lookup.

    Lookup Source

    Select from the list of available lookup sources.

    This list includes values configured in Settings > Processing > Fuzzy Lookup Sources.

    Field Mapping

    This is a list of all fields available in the fuzzy lookup source and by default no columns are selected.

    Select each field you want to map. A default Document Field name is provided.

    Edit the Document Field value as needed.

    Validation form

    Enables you to add a button to the validation form where users can search for database records to populate lookup fields.

    To add a fuzzy lookup button to the validation form:

    1. Select Allow lookup (Default: Cleared).

      Additional settings are available.

    2. Configure the following settings.

      Button text

      Enter the text that is displayed on the validation form button.

      Display location

      Select a location on the validation form for the lookup button.

      • Above field (Default)

      • Top of form

      • Bottom of form

      When Above field is selected select a field from the list. The button is displayed directly above the selected field on the validation form.

      Search results
      Initial search text

      Select and select one of the fields from the fuzzy lookup source.

      The value for the selected field is automatically entered into the Search Text field after clicking on the search button on the validation form. This enables users to select a record that populates the corresponding fields.

      Limit search results

      The number of rows listed in the search results window on the validation form when a search is executed. (Default: 10)

      Show confidence

      When selected, the confidence of a field is displayed in the search results. (Default: Selected)

      Dialog width

      The width of the search window on the validation form in percent. (Default: 75%)

      Dialog height

      The height of the search window on the validation form in pixels. (Default: 450px)

      Results columns

      Configure how fields are displayed on the validation form search window. (Default: All fields selected)

      Any fields selected in the Show column as listed in the search window.

      Select a field and select to change the width of that column.

      Show indicates which fields are displayed on the search form on the validation form

    3. Select Done.

      You are returned to the list of fuzzy lookups.

    4. Select Save.

      The fuzzy lookups window closes and you are returned to the extraction page.

    The table is populated with details from the table so you can add one or more of the lookup fields to this document type. These fields are populated from the fuzzy lookup source rather than extracted on the document.

  6. Select Done to save your fuzzy lookup.
  7. Select Save to accept the fields configured in the fuzzy lookup.

    Each of the selected fields are added to the Fields list with the icon to indicate that the field is from a fuzzy lookup.

  8. Optional. Select Edit fuzzy lookup and Delete fuzzy lookup to manage your fuzzy lookups.
