Test single field script validation methods

The single field validation methods are designed to validate one field at a time. Different fields can have different validation methods, but each method needs to be tested separately. You can test a single field validation method by following these steps:

  1. On the Project tab, in the Configuration group, select Project Settings Project Settings icon.
  2. Click the Validation tab to view the validation settings.
  3. Select the single field script validation method to test and click Properties Properties icon.
  4. In the Testing group, enter a test string into the Sample input text field and click Validate Valid Field Result icon.

    A message is displayed below the Validate button with the test results.

  5. Modify the validation method properties until you are satisfied with the test results.
  6. Click Close to save the validation method properties.
  7. Optionally, click OK to close the Project Settings window.
  8. Save the changes to your project.
