Verification: Menu commands

File menu

Open

Opens the Document Manager, where you select the next root document to process. When using automatic document assignment, the next root document to process is opened without first displaying the Document Manager. This option is disabled if a root document is currently open.

Save

Saves the current root document.

Save & route

Saves the current root document and route it to the next process step.

Close

Closes the root document that is currently being processed.

Close Verification

Closes the root document and Verification. If the root document is not yet valid, a message is displayed, and you can decide how to proceed.

Edit menu

Add new

Creates a new document below the current document.

Crop field or cell content

Deletes part of the field or cell, starting from the current cursor position.

Trim field or cell content

Removes all spaces from the beginning or end of the current field or cell.

Lookup

Searches for and select master data records. Opens the Master data query dialog.

Clear field or cell content

Clears the content of the current field (not the field itself).

Clear group content

Clears all of the controls in the current group box on the input form.

Note: This does not delete the all the values in the field group. It only clears the values that are displayed in the current group of controls so that you can type new values into empty controls.

Clear table row content

Clears the content of the current line (not the line itself).

Clear table content

Clears the content of the table (only the content, not the rows of the table).

Force valid field or cell

Stops editing the current field, cell, row, or table, even though it is not yet valid. See Confirming a field, cell, table row, or table.

After you select one of these commands, its counterpart Forced... replaces it in the menu.

Note: These options can be disabled via the Validation Designer.

Insert table row above

Inserts a line above the current row.

Insert table row below

Inserts a line below the current row.

Delete table row

Deletes the current table row.

Delete all table rows

Deletes all rows in the table.

Learn value

Marks the current field value for "learning" in Knowledge Processing. See instructions.

Note: This command is enabled only if Support Knowledge Processing is selected in the Verification settings.

Document menu

Set cancel flag on document

Sets a cancellation flag on the current document and stop processing it.

Previous document

Navigates to the previous/next document. For more information see Navigating in Verification.

Next document

Deactivate document validation / Deactivate root document validation

Stops processing of the document or root document, even though it is not yet valid. See Confirming a document.

After you select Deactivate document validation, Document validation deactivated replaces it in the menu.

After you select Deactivate root document validation, Root document validation deactivated replaces it in the menu.

Note: These options can be disabled in the configuration of the Verification process step.

Change document type

Changes the current document type to the selected document type.

Print current document

Prints all the media of the currently selected format associated with the current document using the default printer. See Printing images in Verification.

Print

Opens the Print dialog, where you can select a different printer, adjust printer settings, etc. before printing the document. You can also adjust which pages are printed, for example Current page, pages, 1-3, etc.

Image menu

Set cancel flag on page

Sets a cancellation flag on all images that are available in Verification.

Note: Only the medium formats selected in the Verification activity will be canceled. Any existing additional media will not be canceled.

Zoom

  • Zoom in: Zooms in on the image in the image viewer.

    Tip: Zoom in by holding the Ctrl key and left-clicking the image.

  • Zoom out: Zooms out on the image in the image viewer.

    Tip: Zoom out by holding the Ctrl key and right-clicking the image.

  • Width: Zooms in/out on the image so that it fits the full width of the image viewer.

  • Height: Zooms in/out on the image so that it fits the full height of the image viewer.

  • Best fit: Zooms in/out so that the entire image fits.

You can also press and hold Ctrl+Shift while you use your mouse to outline an area that you want to magnify.

Scroll

  • Down: The image moves upwards.

  • Left: The image moves toward the right.

  • Right: The image moves toward the left.

  • Up: The image moves downwards.

Tip: You can adjust the keyboard shortcuts for these commands.

Show read results

Displays the read results (capture / OCR result) instead of the image. You can also click the corresponding button in the toolbar:

Character-based rubberbanding

Activates character-based rubberbanding (normally rubberbanding is based on words, not individual characters). You can also click the corresponding button in the toolbar:

Specific image formats, such as TIFF or JPEG, or No image

Switches between the primary or secondary media. (Secondary media are shown only if a secondary medium format was specified in the Verification settings.)

The options available here depend on how your system is configured. If the command says No image, no image is available or the image format is unavailable.

Note: When displaying PDF, this format is converted to an image and displayed as such.

First page

Displays the first / previous / next / last page of the current medium format of current document. See Switching to a different page during Verification.

Next page

Last page

Change page automatically

If this option is enabled, the system shows the image on which the field was found. The image is displayed in the viewer.

Rotate page 90°

Rotates the image by 90° clockwise. Further images of the same page are rotated accordingly.

Note: If you rotate a PDF document, it cannot be saved with that rotation. However, the rotation angle can be saved as a page property and used for future display. This depends on the Image manipulation allowed setting in the configuration of the Verification process step.

Print current medium

Prints the current image using the default printer. See Printing images in Verification.

Rescan

Rescans the image that is currently displayed.

Mobile Rescan

Sends the image to a mobile device for rescanning.

Set rescan flag on page

Sets a rescan flag that is handled in a subsequent Verify Documents process step. For more information, see Rescanning images: Overview.

Restructuringmenu

Restructuring mode

Restructures documents.

Undo

Undoes the last action done in restructuring mode.

Redo

Redoes the last action done in restructuring mode.

Split document

Divides the document at the selected element and creates a new document.

Join document

Adds all of the sheets of the current document to the previous document and deletes the current document.

Join with parent document

Adds all of the pages of the current document to the parent document (the document directly above) and deletes the current document.

Add new document before

Opens the Add new document dialog, where you can add a new document before or after the selected element.

Add new document after

Add new document below

Opens the Add new document dialog, where you can add a new document after the current document.

Add new sheet

Opens the Add new sheet dialog, where you can add a new sheet to the end (that is, after all of the existing sheets).

Add new sheet after

Opens the Add new sheet dialog, where you can add a new sheet after the current sheet.

Add new page

Opens the Add new page dialog, where you can add a new page to the end (that is, after all of the existing pages).

Add new page after

Opens the Add new page dialog, where you can add a new page after the current page.

View menu

Reset form layout

Resets all the form panes according to the default form that was created in the Validation Designer.

Show documents view

Displays or hides the Documents pane on the left side.

Documents view

  • Documents only: Only documents are displayed in the Documents pane.

  • Documents and thumbnails: Documents and their media are displayed in the Documents pane. Depending on your selection, primary or secondary media are shown. (Secondary media are shown only if a secondary medium format was specified in the Verification settings.)

  • Full structure: The complete document structure (including documents, sheets, pages, and images) is displayed in the Documents pane.

Show read result of the field

Displays the read results (capture / OCR result) over the current field.

Options menu

Shortcuts

Opens the Shortcuts dialog, where you can see a list of the shortcuts that are currently assigned to the individual functions. These shortcuts can be changed in the Verification process step.

Settings

Opens the Settings dialog, where you can set the language of the user interface and adjust root document assignment.

Custom menu

This menu contains all custom actions defined for the current form in Validation Designer. If no custom actions are defined, this menu is disabled. (Information about adding or editing a custom action.)

The name of each action is displayed in the current language of Verification. If a keyboard shortcut is assigned to an action, it is also displayed.

If a custom action includes validation, the program performs validation again after the action is executed. If a focus field is returned by the custom action, focus switches to that field – unless validation is enabled.
