Download/upload storage account data

Download or upload the storage account data using a storage management tool. For example, ClumsyLeaf Software’s CloudXplorer (http://clumsyleaf.com/products/cloudxplorer).

  1. Open a storage management tool.
  2. On the Manage group, click Accounts.
  3. Add a link to storage account using the storage account name and access key. Get the name and the access key from the Storage Account window. See Create an Azure storage account.

    The storage account appears in the left pane displaying existing containers within this account.

  4. In the preceding image, dev_documents_US309673 is one of the containers in the qa309673store1 storage account.
  5. To download document:
    1. Select the container from which to download documents. All documents within the selected container are displayed in the right pane.
    2. Select the documents in the right pane. The Download button gets enabled in the Organize group.
    3. Click Download.
    4. Enter the path to download the files.
    5. Click OK.
  6. To upload documents:
    1. Click Upload in the Organize group. The selected documents get uploaded to your new storage account container.
      • f your container does not exist in the selected storage account you can create a new container.

      • If you downloaded the Dev container documents then the format will be: dev_documents_<Tenantname>. Example: dev_documents_abc

      • If you downloaded the live container documents then the format will be: live_documents_<Tenantname>. Example: live_documents_abc
