Create, Save, and Load Searches

PSIsafe Web allows for easy saving of search queries to facilitate the search process of users.

Create query

Creating Queries in PSIsafe Web is as simple as filling out the required search criteria. After selecting the Search icon in the upper-left, select a Repository, Cabinet, and Template (optional) to narrow down your search to the appropriate location. Then use the dropdown menus that appear just below the Template selection to further elaborate on your criteria. Specify Index (document-level indexes, line items) or System (folder and document metadata) criteria before narrowing down your filters further based on your specific search needs, such as greater than, less than, equals, or does not equal. Then, specify an available value based on your previous selections.

Once all the criteria are filled, you can create a second layer of search queries by hovering on the down arrow and selecting Add, Remove, or Add Group.

  • Add

    Adds a second line for an additional query parameter with a new set of search criteria. This can be a completely different set of search criteria to the first set.

  • Remove

    Removes that line of search criteria as a part of the query.

  • Add Group

    Adds a group of search criteria parameters for unique and complex search queries. This can be a completely different set of search criteria to the first set, and includes multiple sets of search criteria grouped together.

Save query

Once a query has been built by filling out the appropriate search criteria, the query can be saved by clicking the Save or Save As buttons just below the Templates selection. This brings up the Save Query window, where users can save the query with a Name, Description, and Access Restriction. Fill out the fields as needed and set the Access Restriction as appropriate for your organizational needs. Access can be restricted to All Users, Group, or Current User. When selecting Group, make sure to select the appropriate group from the secondary dropdown selection that appears. All users and groups are configured in PSIsafe Desktop Management.

Load query

Selecting the Load button just under the Templates dropdown selection displays the Load Query window, which allows for easy selection of a previously saved query. Queries that have been saved by other users in your organization that have an Access Restriction set to All Users will also appear in this window. User the search field to narrow down the list of available saved queries, and, once selected, select the Load button in the bottom-right to load the query. Once the query is loaded, the search is performed automatically. You can also continue to build upon a loaded search query, and save it as a new query as needed. You can also delete queries from the Load Query window by clicking Delete on the appropriate line of the query you wish to remove.
