Vault

Use the Vault option to securely store, configure, and manage sensitive data for robot access, such as passwords and OAuth credentials within Management Console. Also, the Vault integrates the CyberArk application to securely manage secrets outside of the Management Console.

For security, we recommend that permissions to extract sensitive data from the Vault be restricted to top-level administrative roles. For example, the Developer role needs access to both Management Console and Design Studio but should not be granted access to extract secrets from the Vault.

For users to access the Vault in Design Studio, their permissions must be set to project role.

Use the following Vault tabs for creating and managing data:

Features

As a repository, the Vault integrates with other RPA components and external applications to support robot access and authentication.

For detailed information about what the Vault replaces in older releases, refer to the Tungsten RPA 2025.2 Release Notes.

Key features of the Vault:

  • Centralized and unified approach to managing robot access.

  • Sensitive data is securely accessed by robots as needed.

  • Data is encrypted and included in Management Console backups.

  • Changes to data are recorded in the audit log.

  • Supports OAuth grant types.

  • Integrates with the third-party application CyberArk.

  • Supports REST API calls, so that they can be integrated into automation work flows using robots.

  • Supports legacy OAuth users (renamed OAuth clients) for Basic Engine Robots, with limited functionality.
