Create a new Master Template

  1. Navigate to Master Templates, right-click it, and then click New Master Template in the New pane on the right.
  2. Enter a name for the Master Template and click OK.
  3. Click the new Master Template and then click Edit in the View and Edit pane on the right.
    Also, you can download the Master Template to your computer to edit it in the editor of your choice and then upload it back to KCM Designer. To do so, click the object and then click Download for editing locally in the View and Edit pane on the right. Click Just download or Lock and download to lock the object for other users. When you finish editing the object in your editor, save it and then click Upload locally edited file in KCM Designer to upload the file from your computer.
  4. Add necessary KCM Template Script instructions as described in the Kofax Communications Manager Template Scripting Language Developer's Guide.

    To facilitate the process of working with Master Templates, you can take advantage of Includes (see Add Includes) and Libraries (see Add Libraries).

Compile a Master Template

You need to compile the Master Template you created or edited for the changes to take effect.

  1. Navigate to Master Templates.
  2. Find and click the document to compile and then click Compile in the Other Actions pane on the right.

    If an error occurs, click View error document.
