Test Fax

Use this menu to send a test fax message. The message is sent out and received through fax over IP.

From the Message Connector storage, the message is imported into Kofax App (if configured).

  1. On the menu, click Test Fax. The Send Fax via Storage page appears.
  2. On the Call Peer list, select the signaling protocol or configured call peer to use.
  3. In the Gateway Host field, enter the host IP address or name and optional port of H.323/SIP gateway.
Ignore this field if using call peer.
  4. In the Number to Dial field, type the destination fax number.
For a test message, this can be any number.
  5. In the Caller ID field, enter the ID of the calling party.
  6. In the Expected CSI field, enter Called Subscriber Identification, or a part of it, to verify that the correct destination has been called.
  7. In the Source TSI field, enter the originating subscriber's identification.
  8. To use the T.30 error correction mode (if supported by remote site), keep the Error Correction Mode selected.
  9. On the Max. Transmission Speed list, select the maximum transmission speed and supported modulations.
  10. In the Sender Name field, specify the sender name to be inserted into the fax header line.
  11. To retransmit the fax if the send operation fails, select Retry on Error.
  12. Browse to select a TIFF File to be sent. If left empty, a built-in default file is sent.
  13. Click Send Fax. The "Server returned ok" message appears.
  14. On the menu, click Outbound Status > Processed. The sent fax is listed here.
  15. Optionally, click Inbound Status > Active to view the message. If the Kofax App service is not running, the test fax will be available under Inbound Status > Processed.
