Prompts

A prompt in an AI knowledge base is the structured input provided to an AI model that guides how it retrieves, interprets, and generates information from the knowledge repository. It combines the user's query, system-level instructions, and any retrieved contextual knowledge to produce an accurate and relevant response.

Prompts should be comprehensive, specific, and significant in length. For example, you are an IT support assistant. An employee reports an issue when connecting to the company VPN after changing the password. The prompt can be, "Provide clear troubleshooting steps to help resolve the VPN connectivity issue, including any common causes related to credential synchronization, connectivity, or client configuration."

Tags classify the prompt. They facilitate quick filtering when creating benchmark tests. For the above prompt example, the relevant tags can be VPN, authentication, password-change, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
