Run accessibility check for a form
Generate a report of accessibility issues that should be addressed before deploying a form to production.
A form may have the following accessibility issues:
-
Tab order warnings: Controls that have a non-zero-tab order set, which creates confusing keyboard navigation patterns.
-
Image alt text: Images without meaningful alternative text attributes for screen readers.
-
Heading hierarchy: Missing headings or improper heading structure (skipped levels). At least one heading is required on the form.
-
Color contrast: Insufficient color contrast ratios (minimum 4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text). Only applies to hardcoded colors; theme colors are not validated.
-
Page title: Missing or non-descriptive page title element. A warning is shown if the page title uses the same value as the form name.
-
Input labels: Input controls without associated labels, which are essential for screen reader users.
-
Required fields: Warning if no required fields are marked on the form, which may indicate missing validation.
-
Icon-only buttons: Buttons that display only icons without text alternatives for accessibility.
-
Link text: Non-descriptive link text such as "click here" that doesn't clearly indicate the link's purpose or destination.
- Navigate to the forms list page.
-
Open the form to generate the accessibility check.
The form opens in the Design view, in a new browser tab.
-
On the form modeling bar, select the File tab and then select Accessibility check.
The system runs accessibility validation on the form and generates a report of any issues.
