User authorization
If you are the administrator, follow these steps to assign a role to a KCM Designer user or a group of users. Roles are granted on a project or a folder in a project. The authorization procedure depends on whether LDAP is enabled on KCM Designer. For more information, see "Administrative tasks" in the Kofax Communications Manager Repository Administrator's Guide and "Set LDAP authentication mode for Contract Manager" in the Kofax Communications Manager Getting Started Guide.
When the LDAP mode is enabled, user accounts are organized in LDAP groups that you associate with a role or a set of roles in KCM Designer. Groups are created in the LDAP system. In this mode, users can use their LDAP credentials to log in.

Click a project or folder and click Authorization in the Other Actions pane on the right.
The Authorization window appears.
-
To the right of a role name, click the plus sign to add an LDAP group for this role.
If you are working on an imported project, the Project Administrator role is automatically granted to the administrators LDAP group. The "Add group" window appears. -
Enter the name of a group or start typing the name to filter the list. To select a group, click Add or press Enter and then click Close.
You can associate one LDAP group with different roles, and one role with multiple LDAP groups.

When finished, click Apply changes and then close the window.
