Create and edit an HTML Style Sheet document

For HTML output, you can define the layout of the result page with cascading HTML Style Sheet documents. You can create and edit these documents in KCM Designer as text documents with CSS content.

  1. Navigate to Corporate Design or to the Brand or Document Type folder you are working on.

    • To create a new HTML Style Sheet document, click Create HTML Style Sheet in the New pane on the right.

The new object appears in the selected folder.

  2. Click the HTML Style Sheet document to edit and then click Edit in the View and Edit pane on the right.

  3. The document is opened in the HTML Style Sheet editor.

You can edit CSS elements by typing the text in the editor pane. The CSS syntax will be highlighted, but no syntax check will be applied.

  4. Close the HTML Style Sheet editor and save the changes when prompted to do so.

To view the changes you have applied, see Test an object. Changes are applied to every template that uses this HTML Style Sheet document. To apply an HTML Style Sheet document to a template, use the DOCUMENTSTYLE script command. For more information, see the Kofax Communications Manager Scripting Language Developer's Guide.

You can apply multiple HTML Style Sheet documents to a single Document Template with cascading semantics. For more information, see Fallback and cascading.

Alternatively, you can download the HTML Style Sheet document to your computer to edit it in the editor of your choice and then upload it back to KCM Designer. To do so, click the object and then click Download for editing locally in the View and Edit pane on the right. Click Just download or click Lock and download to lock the object for other users. When you finish editing the object in your editor, save it and then click Upload locally edited file in KCM Designer to upload the file from your computer.

The maximum supported size for the uploaded file is 40 MB.
