Work with Content Wizard

With the Content Wizard, you define a structure for your future document, by filling it with Text Blocks, Data Backbone items, QForms, Selection Groups, and other KCM Designer elements.

A Content Wizard can contain the following elements on the upper level:

  1. To create a new Content Wizard, navigate to Content > Content Wizards.
  2. Click New Content Wizard in the New pane on the right.

The New Content Wizard window appears.

  3. Enter a name for the Content Wizard and click OK.

The new Content Wizard appears in the tree view.

  4. Click the new Content Wizard and then click Edit in the View and Edit pane on the right.

    The Content Wizard Editor appears.

  5. Specify the global properties for the Content Wizard:
    • Display name: Specify a display name and description for the Content Wizard.
    • QForm Reference: If the Content Wizard is going to contain Text Blocks with Fields from Data Backbone, so the end user can fill in these Fields at runtime, you can attach a QForm to the Content Wizard that will contain individual questions related to these Fields. The QForm must already exist. Also, QForms can be added on the various levels inside the Content Wizard.
    • Show items

      • Show all: Indicates that all items will be shown to the user even when no choices are available to be made. If the Content Wizard contains only mandatory Sections and Text Blocks, the Content Wizard presents the user with a read-only list of the mandatory elements.
      • Hide mandatory: Indicates that all mandatory items will be hidden to the user in this Content Wizard. For a Content Wizard consisting only of mandatory Sections and Text Blocks, nothing will be shown. For a Content Wizard also containing optional items, only those items that allow a choice will be shown.
      • Master Template decides: Indicates that the behavior will be defined by the Master Template document that uses this Content Wizard. For more information, see WIZARD in the Kofax Communications Manager Template Scripting Language Developer's Guide.

  6. Now you can fill your Content Wizard with content using the Add item button or the context menu.
  7. Click Save.
