Export and download a project

To transfer a project you have been working on to a different environment, you need to export and download it. The export mechanism limits simultaneous use by multiple users. If two users perform an export at the same time, they both will get the export that was started last.

The maximum supported size of the export file depends on available memory but typically is around 100 MB. For larger exports, use KCM Designer for Windows. For more information, see the section "Import and Export" in the Kofax Communications Manager Repository User's Guide.

  1. From the KCM Designer main window, click the navigation arrow icon and then click Dashboard.
  2. On the dashboard, click Export Project.
  3. Select the project to export and click Export.

    You are notified that the project is being exported.

  4. Click OK.
    As soon as the project is exported, you can download it.
  5. Click Download to download the project.
  6. Click Save.
    By default, the project is saved to the folder with downloaded files on your computer.
Changesets are not included in the project export.
