Create and edit a new Document Template
The following procedure explains how to create a Document Template.
- Navigate to .

Click
Document Templates and then click
New Document Template in the
New pane on the right.
The New Document Template window appears.

Enter a name for the new Document Template and click
OK.
The new Document Template appears in the Document Templates folder.
The name of the Document Template cannot contain any of the following characters:
: ? / < > * " | \ ( ) .

Click the new Document Template and then click
Edit in the
View and Edit pane on the right.
The Document Template Editor appears.
- In the Based on field, select a Master Template, a Quick Template, or a Static Document that the new Document Template will be based on.
- In the optional Description field, add a description.

If your Document Template is based on a Master Template, proceed to the next steps.
If your Document Template is based on a Quick Template or a Static Document, it is ready, so you can Save & Close it now.

In the
Parameters section, provide values for the parameters. These parameters are
declared in the Master Template code. To get a description of a parameter, move the pointer to the comment sign if the description
was added in
Master Template.
- If the Master Template on which the Document Template is based contains parameters, such as
TEXT,
DATE,
WIZARD,
FORM, and more, the
Document Template Editor prompts you to provide values for these parameters. The number of
parameters is unlimited.

- Provide values for all mandatory parameters (marked with an asterisk). For optional parameters, you may leave them unchanged or select No value to let Master Template decide on the value.

For Text Block parameters, when you scroll through the list of available Text Blocks, a preview pane appears when a Text Block is in focus. You may enlarge the preview pane by clicking the icon in the right top corner.
- If the Master Template on which the Document Template is based contains parameters, such as
TEXT,
DATE,
WIZARD,
FORM, and more, the
Document Template Editor prompts you to provide values for these parameters. The number of
parameters is unlimited.
- Click Save & Close.
